Blood pressure has become of the most popular issue that many people discuss related to their health. You might have heard some terms such as high, low and normal blood pressure. Blood Pressure is a pressure that given by the blood to the blood vessel wall. It occurs when your heart beats. When your heart beats, it pumps blood to be circulated into every part of your body. As the blood moves, it will put some pressures to the blood vessel wall. We can count or measure the blood pressure in order to know whether we have high, normal, or low blood pressure.
Blood pressure is represented by two numbers, such as 120/80. Each number represents type of blood pressure. The first or top number is called systolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure is the highest level of blood pressure when your heart beats. The second or bottom number is called diastolic blood pressure. Diastolic blood pressure is the lowest level of blood pressure when your heart relaxes between beat.

Healthy Blood Pressure Range

There are three possibilities that happen to the blood pressure: High, Normal, and low. The healthy blood pressure can be defined as the condition in which our blood pressure is between high and low, which means in the normal condition. For healthy Blood Pressure, your systolic blood pressure should be between 90 and 120 and diastolic blood pressure should be between 60 and 80. It also means said that normal or healthy blood pressure is below 120/80 and above 90/60.

Factors Influences Blood Pressure

You may wonder how our blood pressure can change time to time. There are some factors that can influence the blood pressure. Mostly it is about the life style. What you consume, your physical activity, weight, and psychological condition are believed to be most common factors that can influence the blood pressure. Beside those factors, age also can influence the blood pressure. In older people, as the arteries become stiff and less flexible, the heart will work harder to pump the blood.  Some people also believe that each person has their own tendency in the blood pressure, influences by genetic factors.

Problems related to Blood Pressure

Basically, there are two problems that are related by blood pressure: high blood pressure and low blood pressure. High blood pressure is also well-known as hypertension. It is a condition when your blood pressure is 140/90 or higher. Hypertension can cause heart attack and stroke. Low blood pressure is well-known as hypotension. It occurs when your blood pressure is below 90/60. It can cause dizzy and faint.

How to Maintain Healthy Blood Pressure

In order to maintain healthy blood pressure, you need to be aware with your life–style. Healthy life-style will result on healthy blood pressure. You should consume the healthy food and do enough exercise. Additionally, you also need to have enough rest in order to put your blood pressure to the healthy blood pressure range.
